Despite an impressive effort, Coggeshall Town suffered heartbreak in the quarter final of the Essex Senior Cup against Chelmsford City of the Conference South. The Clarets had the lead at the half time interval after a goal from ex West Street man, Aaron Cosgrave. Chris Whelpdale extended the home sides lead in the seventy seventh minute, before Nnamdi Nwachuku pulled a goal back three minutes later. However, Coggeshall were unable to find a second goal to force the match in to a penalty shoot-out as Chelmsford progressed to the semi-finals.
