Smith Makes Additions

Following the recent departures, manager Graeme Smith has moved quickly to bring in two new additions to his SeedGrowers squad, who arrive at West Street with fantastic pedigree and a brilliant track record.

First of the new additions is forward, Sam Bantick. Bantick joins West Street from local and division rivals, Heybridge Swifts where he became a real fans favourtite. Sam was influential in helping Heybridge reach the 1st Round of the FA Cup last season and even scored in their tie against Exeter City. Bantick has previously played for Brentwood Town where he secured promotion from the Isthmian North to the Premier, AFC Sudbury where he assisted in them winning the Isthmian North, AFC Hornchurch where he won the the Isthmian Premier, Tonbridge Wells, Concord Rangers, along with other clubs at various different levels.

The other new SeedGrower is tough tackling midfielder, Syrus Gordon. Gordon joins Coggeshall Town from Bostik Premier outfit, Harlow Town where he was their club captain and made over 140 appearances for the Hawks – he joined Harlow after a spell with Cheshunt. Syrus will bring vital experience to Smith’s side having previously won the Isthmian North whilst at Harlow Town.

Following his two new signings, Graeme Smith voiced his thoughts to the clubs media team. Smith said “I am delighted to bring these two players to the club, both of them have championship winning experience at this level and will be great additions to our squad as we now look to push on in our league campaign after exiting the FA Cup.”

Sam & Syrus both made their Coggeshall debut’s in Tuesday’s impressive win over AFC Hornchurch. Everyone at West Street would like to welcome both players to the club and we look forward to seeing them in action for the SeedGrowers.
