As the Town started the season how they ended the last, a home game against AFC Sudbury, they were looking to secure three points on the opening day of the season.

And that, they did. Coggeshall led at the break thanks to goals from Mehki McLeod and Nnamdi Nwachuku (pictures). The visitors pulled a goal back midway through the second half, before Conor Hubble sealed all three points in dying minutes of the match.
