Nnamdi & George Join The 100 Club

On Saturday 12 January, co-owner, Olly Murs carried out a presentation to Nnamdi Nwachuku and George Cocklin to recognise and congratulate their commitment to Coggeshall Town having now appeared over one hundred times for the SeedGrowers. Nnamdi and George were presented with a certificate detailing their appearances for the SeedGrowers along with a bottle of champagne.

Nwachuku made his Town debut on 5 March 2016 against Little Oakley in the Border League cup and also scored one goal on his debut. In his first season with the club, he went on to make a total of ten appearances whilst recording an impressive fourteen goals. ‘Nnams’ was then influential in the SeedGrowers achieving back to back promotions in the 2016/17 season and the 2017/18 season.

In the 2016/17 season, the electric front man appeared thirty four times and notched a remarkable forty four goals for the SeedGrowers. He carried on his remarkable form in to the 2017/18 season by scoring a further thirty eight goals in just forty seven games. Nnamdi’s one hundredth appearance for the club took place on Saturday 22 September 2018 against Walton Casuals in the FA Cup. In his first one hundred games in the colours of Coggeshall, Nwachuku scored an eye watering one hundred and one goals – some of which have been absolute crackers, one of which resulted in Nwachuku winning goal of the season for the 2017/18 season!

Tenacious midfielder, Cocklin made his SeedGrowers debut almost three years ago against Needham Market Reserves on 20 August 2016 in the Thurlow Nunn Divison One – Coggeshall went on to win that game by twelve goals to two, with George, like Nwachuku also scoring on his debut. In the same season, Cocklin went on to appear another thirty nine times for the club, bringing his total to forty appearances for the season, adding a total of three goals in the process.

Throughout his time at West Street, Cocklin has become some what of a fans favourite with his range of passing and tough tackling becoming a joy to watch for the Coggeshall supporters. In the 2017/18 season, George appeared forty two times for the SeedGrowers, again scoring three goals during the campaign. In recognition for his impressive 2017/18 season, George collected the Players Player of the Season and the Supporters Player of the Season accolades at the annual awards evening in May 2018. Cocklin reached his landmark milestone this season, back on 30 October 2018 when he featured in the Town’s one-nil win over AFC Sudbury in the Bostik League, Division One North.
