Match Report

Coggeshall Town extended their winning run with another excellent result away at Stanway. Coggeshall went in front after an even start to the match after Jack Hayes headed in from a corner. Coggeshall looked in control of the match as the half went on but were pegged back just before the break after Stanway equalised with a good goal from long range. As the half time whistle went the scores were level 1-1 despite the fact “ The Town “ had been on top for the bulk of the first half. The second half started with Stanway having their best spell but some solid defending from Coggeshall kept them out. The visitors went back in front on the hour after Tom Monk beat his defender to score with shot across the keeper.Stanway kept pushing to try and get back on level terms but never really threatened the Coggeshall goal apart from one effort that Tyler Brampton cleared of the line. Coggeshall made sure of the 3 points after they scored a third after Kamal Guthmy finished well from just inside the box to put the result beyond doubt. The result keeps “ The Town “ on top of the table with 3 home games in a row ahead of them starting Tuesday night when Saffron Walden visit West Street.
