Match Report

The Seedgrowers went into their first league game of the season with a solid lineup, which was backed up by an equally solid start with some fantastic, promising attacks from Ernest Okoh, Sam Bantick and Ross Wall. The boys displayed some great forward football, with Bantick forcing a number of saves from the home side’s goalkeeper. A dominant first half from Coggeshall left away fans hopeful for the second half as they closed in on converting the chances made in the first half from the Seedgrower’s front three.

Coggeshall kept their tempo in the second half as Sam Bantick, George Cocklin and Ernest Okoh made room for Jermaine Francis, Ethan Kessel and Harry Norman. Hashtag seemed to ease into the setting more as they made a few chances, which were ultimately fruitless, as Matthew Cafer and his defence remained composed despite fast paced efforts from the home side. The final forty-five saw both of the fixture’s goals, as two long range efforts from Coggeshall’s Ross Wall and Hashtag’s Jesse Waller-Lassen were sunk into the top right with ease past helpless shotstoppers.

The game finished one-all as the league newcomers shared points with the Seedgrowers. A promising display from both sides made for an entertaining fixture, and most certainly a great season opener for the fans.
