Match Preview – Bowers & Pitsea

Coggeshall Town will go to battle against Bowers & Pitsea for the second time this season, following the two sides drawing nil-nil on the opening day of the season. Since then, both outfits have gone on to cement themselves as promotion contenders, Bowers & Pitsea especially as they currently sit top of the league table, a position they have held for some time now. From their twenty one games this season, Bowers have amassed an impressive forty seven points. Their home form in the Bostik North has been very impressive and to date, they are let to lose a league game at the Len Salmon Stadium on their new artificial surface. Pitsea have played ten league games at home this season, winning seven and drawing seven of them, averaging 2.6 goals per game whilst only conceding seven goals.

The SeedGrowers defence will have to show the same qualities as last Saturday’s win at home to Soham Town Rangers if they want to prevent an impressive Bowers front line who have recently acquired the dangerous Bradley Warner from AFC Hornchurch who he joined from Rob Small’s side in the middle of last season. Town boss Graeme Smith will have been pleased by last weeks return to wining ways, especially as Michael Gyasi capped his return to West Street with a goal, George Cocklin popping up with his first goal of the season and Nnamdi Nwachuku scoring his second goal in as many games and appears to have put his recent injury woes behind him.
