FA Cup Preview – Cockfosters

On Saturday, the Town travel to Essex Senior League side, Cockfosters in the Preliminary Round of the Emirates FA Cup. After a memorable cup run last season, the SeedGrowers will be looking for more of the same, if not better, this season.

Cockfosters currently sit in fourth in the Essex Senior League, having amassed a respectable seven points in just four games. They progressed from the Extra Preliminary Round thanks to a one-nil win over, Leyton Atheltic. Coggeshall come in to the match having only played two competitive games to date this season, unbeaten in both of those.

Cockfosters play their home games at Chalk Lane, Barnet, Greater London, EN4 9JG. It should be noted that parking at the ground is extremely limited and no parking is available for supporters. Neighbouring streets are available for parking, however spectators are asked to be mindful and respectful when using near-by streets. Those supporters who wish to travel to the ground by train, are advised to check their travel arrangements in advance as closures are planned throughout the bank-holiday weekend on the Piccadilly Line. Cockfosters tube station is within walkable distance of Chalk Lane, approximately 0.2 miles away.

Admission for the fixture is priced at £6 for adults, £3 for concessions whilst any child under the age of fourteen is admitted free of charge.

Ahead of the kick off on Saturday, there will be a minutes silence in memory of the Cockfosters Club Secretary, Graham Bint, who sadly passed away this week. The thoughts of everybody at Coggeshall Town are with Graham’s friends, family and those associated with Cockfosters.

If you’re unable to make Saturday’s game, make sure you tune in to the clubs social media channels, for live updates throughout the date, including live match updates on our Twitter account.
