Our Development Squads

CTFC U12’s  4 – 1 Stanway Villa
The u 12s got their new year off to a good start with a fine victory over Stanway Villa, goals scored by Harry, Louis, an Ashley free kick and an OG from a Bat corner. Well done boys it has been a difficult season behind the scenes but you have just got on with your football and you are all improving, great team work, well done.

Stanway Rovers 0 – 9 CTFC U13’s
Jack appears to have the boys focused again, this was a demolishing, the boys raced into a 5-0 half time lead, which allowed the goalkeeper to get some pitch time second half. Goals came from Declan, Luke, Charlie, Sonny, Kelly, an OG and a hatrick from man of the match Freddie. Keep the momentum going unbeaten till the end of the season is the target.

CTFC U14’s No Game

Lt Oakley 2 – 6 CTFC U15’s
Another great result from the 15s saw them safely through to the 2nd round of the Open Cup goals from Euan hatrick, Jack, Raf and Harry. Back to the league next week.

CTFC U16’s 3 – 2 Colchester Athletic
This game was like something out of Roy of the Rovers and our Roy was called Will J. Having had a chat before the game about his need to show plenty of energy and use his quality passing, in what we knew was a competitive match, he started slowly and was withdrawn after 15 minutes just after we went 1-0 down. A chat was had and Will was unhappy at being withdrawn and disappointed in himself, He was told to make a difference when he went back on and that would be the way to react, not feeling sorry for himself. Shortly after we conceded a penalty, was our 100% record coming to an end, not yet it wasn’t as our Keeper Will D made a great save diving low to his left to tip it round the post. Half time arrived and Will J remained on the bench, we reorganised slightly and promptly went 2-0 down, yet another shuffle in formation was necessary and 15 minutes into 2nd half we won a free kick on the edge of their box, was this Will Js moment, quickly a substituation was made and on came Will J off three paces he curled the ball round and over the wall and into the top right hand corner it was Messiesque. But the drama wasn’t over 10 minutes later we win a Penalty, there is a delay for the booking, Will J has ball in hand, he spots it and smashes it top left. Fairytales however are not complete at 2-2, so of course we needed a winner and Will W got it 10 minutes before the end. So Will D saved pen, Will J showed amazing character to score the free kick and Pen and Will W got the winner, which goes to prove this team don’t know when they are beat and where there is a WILL there’s a WAY AMAZING !!!!

CTFC U18’s 4 – 3 Little Oaklet aet This game fell into a familiar pattern a vastly superior collection of footballers, play a team of lesser ability that have bags of desire. Good team waste early chances and go one down, now chasing the game. Game gets scrappy and we seriously loose the fouls against score, our boys must enjoy getting kicked, me and Brian cant see the attraction still you appear to know best.
Eventually superior fitness and a bit of quality from Didi win the game and ensure we progress to the 2nd round of the open cup, other goals came from Joe P, Elliott and Tom.
