Coggeshall Town became the first team to visit Aveley’s Parkside Stadium and leave with any points. Aveley who were league leaders before the game started had won all six of their previous home games in the Bostik Division One North.

The SeedGrowers took the lead in the eleventh minute, courtesy of a close range volley from defender Jamie Shaw. In the second half, Aveley equalised through a header from Alex Akrofi, just moments after Goalkeeper Danny Sambridge pulled of a magnificent penalty save.
