Match Report

Coggeshall Town put in an excellent performance at West Street to overcome in form Wroxham. Heavey rain and strong winds made conditions testing but the West Street pitch was again in excellent condition. Coggeshall started well and pushed the visitors back right from the word go.As the half went on “ The Town “ started to look dangerous with Tom Monk and Nnamdi Nwachuku looking a real handful for the Wroxham defence .It was Nwachuku who gave Coggeshall the lead after some excellent hold up play from Ross Wall sent Conor Hubble away down the right hand side who crossed for Nwachuku to volley home from just inside the box. It was a great strike and just what the home team deserved after their great start. Coggeshall continued to dominate with Wroxham offering little at the other end, so goal number two soon followed. This time a through ball from Daniel Cunningham sent Tom Monk through on goal who shot across the keeper to put “ The Town “ two up to keep up his recent fine run of goalscoring.

As half time approached Nwachuku scored his second of the day to put Coggeshall 3 up at the break. The second half began with Coggeshall looking hungry to put the result beyond doubt. After only 10 minutes of the second half Coggeshall secured the result after Monk scored his second of the day to give the home team a 4-0 lead .Wroxham kept fighting and had their best spell during the second half but Coggeshall held firm to keep a clean sheet and wrap up the 3 points without conceding.

The team keep their second place position in the table and with no midweek action the team have all week to prepare for the visit to Ipswich Wanderers.
