Coggeshall Town finished off their season in style with a great win at West Street against Stowmarket who finished in third place in the table and who were the early season favourites for the title. A crowd of over 400 were in attendance to see the curtain come down on a great season for the club with the championship trophy being presented at the final whistle. In the match Coggeshall fell behind after around 20 minutes despite the fact they had made the better start. The goal conceded didn’t put the team out of their stride though and they kept attacking the visitors trying to force an equaliser. As half-time approached the Champions got back on level terms with a great finish from Conor Hubble who burst through the Stowmarket defence to finish well with a left-foot shot.

The second half started with both teams playing well and only an excellent save from James Bransgrove stopped the visitors from going back in front. It was now an end to end game but with Coggeshall looking more of a threat in front of goal. Coggeshall eventually got their noses in front this time from a corner, It was Hubble who was the provider this time swinging in the kick where Nnamdi Nwachuku rose highest to head home to give “ The Town “ the lead.Coggeshall seemed to lose concentration after taking the lead and allowed Stowmarket straight back in to equalise making the score 2-2 with 15 minutes to go. The home team got their focus back quickly after conceding and continued to press again looking for a third goal. With only minutes remaining a long ball from the back caught out the Stowmarket backline who allowed Tom Monk to break through and score with an excellent left foot finish to score what proved to be the winning goal as Stowmarket couldn’t manage to get back level before the final whistle.

After the game, the league trophy was presented to the team who celebrated with the many supporters who had stayed to be part of the celebrations.
