Match Report

Coggeshall Town arrived at Needham Market looking to maintain there unbeaten start to life in the Thurlow Nunn league. It didn’t take them long to break the deadlock as after some early pressure which kept a young Needham side on the back foot ” The Town ” forced a corner. George Cocklin who was making his debut for the club delivered the ball into the box and after a scramble Nico Farthing shot home from close range to score his first goal of the season and put Coggeshall one up. Goal number two soon followed as some poor defending from the home team allowed Nnamdi Nwachuku to break away and round the keeper to finish neatly. It was one way traffic as it has been in previous weeks but this time around the teams excellent play was being rewarded with goals. Goal number three was a real stunner as Kane Dobrowlski and George Cocklin combined well out wide to supply the ball to Sean Radley about 25 yards out who smashed a tremendous shot into the bottom corner leaving the Needham keeper no chance. Coggeshall’s fast start had left the home team shell shocked and it only got worse for them as Nnamdi Nwachuku completed his hatrick with goals four and five with two excellent strikes. The game was only 20 mins old but with a five goal lead all ready it only looked like there would be one result, it looked a long way back for Needham at this point. Another player making his first start for the club got the next goal as Nwachuku put through Shamido Pedulu to finish well to make the score 6 – 0.  A lapse in concentration from a corner allowed a Needham player to get free and score to pull a goal back but ” The Town ” went straight up the other end to hit back immediately with goal number seven again from Nwachuku. Coggeshall weren’t finished as half time approached Pedulu scored his second with a nice finish after a cross from Tom Monk to make the score 8 – 1 at the break. The first half performance from Coggeshall had been very good , as it had been in previous weeks but this time around the chances were being taken.

With the result not really in any doubt the teams took the field for the second half with Coggeshall keen to add to there total. The game was soon following the pattern of the first half with the Needham defenders struggling to contain the Coggeshall attacking players who offer a huge amount of power and pace. Nnamdi Nwachuku helped himself to four more goals to take his tally to seven for the day with Needham nicking one back during the second 45 to make the final score 12 – 2 to Coggeshall in what was a memorable away day performance.

It was a real all round excellent display from ” The Town ” players with new signing’s George Cocklin and Shamido Pedulu both performing well on there debut’s and the 7 goal haul from Nnamdi Nwachuku something to remember.

The team are in midweek action this week with a tough fixture away at Cornard on Wednesday night then they are back at West Street on Saturday against Bury Town
