Match Report

Coggeshall Town continued their push for promotion with a great away performance at Hadleigh coming away with a narrow 1-0 victory. Conditions were very good at Hadleigh as the referee got the match underway. Coggeshall started very well and took the game to the home team right from the start. The visitors created many chances in the first half with Tom Monk getting into good positions on a couple of occasions but he just couldn’t find the finish to put “ The Town “ in front. Nnamdi Nwachuku also went close but his effort came back off the post to safety. Coggeshall were dominating possession with George Cocklin and Daniel Cunningham taking control of the midfield area while Conor Hubble was supplying the ammunition for the frontline.Coggeshall continued to press but just couldn’t break through a resolute Hadleigh defence so the teams went in level at the break.

After the half time interval Coggeshall came out strong with Hadleigh looking like they had given their best to stay in the game in the first half.Coggeshall were on the front foot now with Hadleigh relying on the odd break away but never really testing James Bransgrove in the Coggeshall goal.Hadleigh continued to defend with great determination but they couldn’t hold out till the end as “ The Town “ eventually took the lead with 12 minutes to go.A corner from Cunningham was headed home from close range by Nnamdi Nwachuku to finally put Coggeshall in front. As the match entered the final minutes Coggeshall were pretty comfortable to see out a hard fought 1-0 away win to keep their promotion ambitions on track. This was another example of an all round team performance with everyone playing their part including the many supporters who made the trip to support the team.
