Match Report

Coggeshall Town recorded an impressive away performance at Gorleston returning home with 3 points after a crushing 7-0 victory. Coggeshall adapted to the heavy pitch and windy conditions quickly to take an early lead through Ross Wall who kept up his recent good form in front of goal. A quick fire double from Tom Monk soon followed to give “ The Town “ a 3-0 lead after 30 minutes. Coggeshall were in a dominant mood now restricting a shell-shocked Gorlseton to very little in a one sided first half. The visitors scored a fourth goal just before half-time with Wall adding his second to send Coggeshall in 4 nil up at the break.

Coggeshall started the second half brightly and immediately scored a fifth goal after some good work out wide from Aaron Cosgrave ended up with him crossing into the box were Ross Wall was on hand to complete his hat-trick. With the result now beyond doubt “ The Town “ relaxed and played some excellent football even though the conditions were testing. There was time for two more goals with Wall adding the sixth, his fourth of the day and Josce Syrett tapped home after the keeper spilled a Conor Hubble freekick for number seven to complete the scoring. It was a tremendous all-round team performance to get things going at the start of the busy Christmas schedule.
