Match Report

Coggeshall chalked up there first win of the season with a excellent display away at Sudbury. On a damp evening which made Sudbury’s 3G pitch very slick the pace of the game was fast from the 1st minute with both teams playing some attractive football. The opening exchanges were fairly even but it wasn’t long before ” The Town ” started to impose there extra strength and experience on a young Sudbury team. Coggeshall started to look very dangerous as there front three of Nnamdi Nwachuku, Kane Dobrowlski and Tom Monk were all looking sharp and causing the Sudbury back line lots of problems. As the half went on Coggeshall started creating lots of chances with Jordan Palmer and Matt Southwell going close from long range and Nwachuku hitting the post after a good run.” The Town ” were in complete control as Sudbury were struggling to get a foot hold in the match but on 30 minutes the home side took the lead with there first effort on goal. A long ball into the box wasn’t dealt with properly by the Coggeshall back line allowing the Sudbury player to finish unchallenged past Matt Walker giving them a unlikely looking lead. As the game approached half time Coggeshall got back level after some excellent build up play involving Monk and Southwell sent Nnamdi Nwachuku through to score with a great finish. It was nothing more than ” The Town ” deserved as they had dominated possession during the first half. Minutes later Coggeshall got in front after a Nwachuku cross was finished neatly by Dobrowlski  to give the away team the lead at the break.

The second half started with a similar pattern to the first half although Sudbury were now looking far more dangerous on the break and giving the Coggeshall defenders some work to do. Coggeshall went further ahead on the hour after another great cross from Kane Dobrowlski was slotted home neatly by Nwachuku for his second of the night.”The Town” continued to be the dominant team for the remainder of the game and scored a fourth goal near the end of the match after a good run and cross from Abednego Mensah was steered into the net by Danny Scott. The last goal really finished off a good nights work by the team who came back very strong after falling behind in the first half against the run of play.

There were many good performances but Tom Monk and Kane Dobrowlski were a threat all night to the Sudbury defence and Sean Radley kept things moving in midfield. The team are at back at West Street Saturday when Downham Town are the visitors.
