A much-changed Coggeshall side went to Brantham looking to progress into the next round of the League Cup. The team took to the field with 6 changes being made from the lineup that won convincingly at Ely on the previous Saturday. Pitch conditions were very testing and the temperature was at freezing point. The game wasn’t much of a spectacle with both teams trying hard but very little in goal-mouth action. Coggeshall had by far more of the possession but could not convert any of the chances they created. Brantham defended well throughout the match and managed to force a draw to take the game to penalties. It was a poor quality penalty shootout with plenty of misses from both sides as Brantham came out on top to move into the next round.
