Coggeshall Town picked up 3 points in their Boxing Day clash at Haverhill Borough in a hard fought game. Coggeshall had the bulk of the possession in the first half any created a few chances with Tom Monk and Ross Wall both going close. The deadlock was broken from a set piece after skipper Luke Wilson headed in at the far post from a Daniel Cunningham corner to give “The Town “the lead. There was no addition to the scoreline as the match reached the half way point.The second half got underway with Haverhill having their best spell in the opening stages making Coggeshall defend for a lengthy spell to keep their one goal advantage.The visitors worked hard to keep a clean sheet and created some good opportunities of their own but did not manage to convert any of them to extend their lead. As the game entered the final minutes both teams had chances to score but as the ref blew the final whistle it ended up with Coggeshall coming away with a slender 1-0 victory from a tough encounter.
