18’s progress in FA Youth Cup

Coggeshall Town Under 18 team won through to the next round of The FA Youth Cup after a very good win against Sawbridgeworth Town at West Street. It was the first time in the clubs 138 year history that the team had be able to enter the competition so it was a real landmark fixture. Manager Brian Sawyer who was an ex professional at Colchester United , and also had a great non league career playing for Halstead Town, Great Wakering Rovers and Basildon United led the team assisted by Marcus Tracey to an excellent victory. The team chalked up a 6-0 win with the goals coming from John Fillingham, Tom Blackwell , Marley Okosi and a hatrick from Dylan Awulonu. It was a great all round team performance from the players who have made an excellent start to the season in their league campaigns to. They currently sit 4th in The Thurlow Nunn Youth League with games in hand on the teams above, and are top of the table in the Colchester and District Youth league which they compete in at weekends. Great credit goes to Brian, Marcus and all of the players for their excellent start to the season.
