Coggeshall Town chalked up another win as they overcame a tough Saffron Walden team at West Street. The first half was an even affair with both teams having possession without creating much in the way of goal scoring chances. As the match approached half time Coggeshall started to get the better of things and went in front through Aaron Cosgrave. A long diagonal pass from George Cocklin sent Cosgrave away down the right-hand side who beat the last defender before firing a great shot into the far corner giving the visitors keeper no chance. Coggeshall went in 1 up at the break which they probably just about deserved. The home team came out of the blocks fast as the second half got underway and started to create plenty of chances but “ The Town “ just couldn’t quite break through to go further ahead. It took a similar goal again from Cosgrave to double Coggeshall’s lead as he scored from the angle again beating the keeper at the near post this time. With a 2-0 lead Coggeshall seemed happy to play the remainder of the half out by keeping possession of the ball with Saffron Walden rarely threatening at the other end.As the final whistle sounded “ The Town “ were pleased to pick up another 3 points to consolidate their position at the top of the table again.
