Match Report

Coggeshall Town picked up another excellent win on the road at Clacton .Two second-half goals from Tom Monk and Conor Hubble was enough for “The Town “ to come away from Clacton with all 3 points. The first half was a tight affair with Coggeshall creating plenty of chances but found the Clacton keeper in good form as he made several good saves to keep the scores level. In the visitors goal James Bransgrove was also called into action a couple of times to make smart saves to keep his team on level terms. At the break the scores were even 0-0 with Coggeshall having the bulk of possession without breaking a hardworking Clacton team down. The second half got underway with Coggeshall again on the front foot as they started to take control of the game.It took until around the 70th minute for “ The Town “ to take the lead, and it was a real cracker that got them in front. After missing some far easier chances during the first half Tom Monk picked the ball up just outside the box and beat his man before smashing a left-footed shot into the top corner giving the Clacton keeper no chance. There only looked one-winner as Coggeshall continued to press forward from that point. Goal number two soon followed after Conor Hubble drove a free kick in from outside the box with the help of a slight deflection to put the result beyond doubt with 10 minutes remaining. The final whistle sounded to the delight of the many traveling supporters who had made the trip to get behind the team as another 3 points on the road was achieved in testing conditions.
