Match Report

Coggeshall Town suffered defeat for the first time in 17 matches away at Histon. Coggeshall had far the better of the first half creating numerous chances without scoring only to fall behind just before the break. The second half got underway with the visitors again having most of the possession but not managing to get back on level terms Coggeshall were harshly reduced to ten men on the hour after Conor Hubble was sent off for a second bookable offence , neither incident warranted a yellow card. The team reshuffled to cope with being a man down but conceded again shortly after.Coggeshall now had a mountain to climb to get anything from the match but they kept trying hard to get back into it. Tom Monk was introduced as a sub and made an immediate impact scoring from close range after a cross into the box from Aaron Cosgrave to get “ The Town “ back into it.With 20 minutes to go even with a man short Coggeshall dominated the game and still created plenty of opportunities but just couldn’t get back on level terms. As the final went sounded Coggeshall had tasted defeat for the first time in many weeks but will feel hard done by as they had put a lot into the game and coped brilliantly with 10 men for most of the second half.
