Match Report

Coggeshall Town chalked up another win with a crushing performance against Walsham to win 8-0. The West Street pitch was again in excellent condition with a large crowd in attendance as the game got underway. Coggeshall had new signing Ross Wall in their starting lineup after his move from Hornchurch and Jack Curtis came in for the injured Conor Hubble. Coggeshall started very well and immediately put the visitors on the back foot. The Home team gained an early advantage with the opening goal coming from Nnamdi Nwachuku, goal number two soon followed after Sam West headed in at the far post from a corner for his first goal for the club to double “The Towns “ lead. New signing Ross Wall came close to opening his account with a strike from outside the box but it came back-off the post and was cleared away by a Walsham defender. On 30 minutes goal number 3 went in again Nwachuku was on hand to finish well after some good work out wide from Josce Syrett. Coggeshall were piling on the pressure at this point with Walsham having no answers to stop them increasing their lead. Debutant Ross Wall opened his account finishing well from close range to make the score 4-0. Nwachuku completed his hat-trick just before half-time to give “ The Town “ a five goal lead at the break. Walsham started the second half showing a bit more resistance but it still looked likely that Coggeshall could score more. As the half went on the Home team continued to press and they soon got back in amongst the goals. Goals 6 And 7 were scored by Tom Monk who has found his scoring touch again recently, and the 8th and final goal was scored by Nnamdi Nwachuku again to take his tally to 4 on the day. It was a tremendous all-round performance and keeps the teams recent good run of form going in preparation for next weeks visit to Stowmarket.
